Valentine's Day Mantle

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I love the way the red and pink and cream and all shades of Look like in my home.  Here's a pic of my current Mantle for Valentine's Day!

Let's take a look around...

 Remember these apothecary jars I made last year?!  They are still going strong and I use them for just about every holiday!  Here I just stuffed them with tissue paper in the coordinating colors.

 Here's a better look at this side.

 In the center I used the same window I used for my Winter Mantle and cut out some cute "I Love U" letters and then taped them to the window panes.  I left my family pictures up from the Winter Mantle.  This was a really easy turn over.

 Again, the same candle holders from my Winter Mantle and just grouped them to the same side.  I changed out the candles with some red and silver sparkly ones and voila...Valentine's Day! :)

 This ADORABLE garland was made with my silhouette, but it is really easy to do so without the aide of my fancy machine.  You can find out how on My Craft Evolution!

 I used curling ribbon to thread it together.

Wedding Anniversary Mantle

Happy March!

I know it's almost over and this post is overdue, but I just had to share with you my Wedding Anniversary Mantle!  I had so much fun pulling out all of my Wedding stuff and displaying it.  Unfortunately, March this year also means St Patrick's Day and Easter, so I won't get to put up those mantles, but it is worth it!

This is a picture of our wedding party.  You can also see some of our bubble wedding favors here.

This is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding! Us praying after taking Communion for the first time as Husband and Wife.  Our Ring Pillow was made out of my mother's wedding dress.  It's very vintage and I used the lace to create the details.  You can also see P's boutonniere.

These are our actual wedding chalices.  You can't see very well, but they are engraved with "Mr. Smith" and "Mrs. Smith" and our wedding date.  P looked like Mr. Monopoly with his top hat and cane.  So dashing!

This was displayed by P's Groom's Cake.

 

 

This was our wedding cake topper.  You can also see some of our "guest book." in this picture.  We framed one of our engagement photos and had everyone sign the mats instead of a book.  This way we can always see who came. :)

Our Unity Candle.  I made the design with a little hot glue and beads.  It's fallen apart throughout the years.

 

Our wedding album and anniversary album.  It has the first 10 years of celebrations in it along with a photo so that we can see how we've changed.

 

His top hat, my veil and crown.  This is also a silk replica of my bouquet that I used as a display the day of our wedding.

This is an anniversary present that P got me this year!!  We celebrated 9 years and the traditional gifts are pottery and willow.  I think he did a great job!

I made this banner this year because the mantle just wasn't complete. It's our anniversary.  9 years!!  I got the template for the banner here.  She has all the letters, numbers and some fun shapes to print for FREE!  It was really easy to print out and then I glued it to some blue and yellow card stock to match our wedding colors.  It is displayed with clothespins attaching to some white tulle.  Very weddingy. :)

 

I hope you enjoyed my Wedding Mantle! I love it and it's very personal. After this month it will all go back in the box and we'll pull it out again next year!

Mickey Mouse Birthday

So if you've read my earlier post about Make-a-Wish, then you know that G is TOTALLY into Mickey Mouse right now!  He's been asking for a Mickey Mouse party since July.  We'll it's finally here!  His birthday!  We are celebrating all out in Mickey Style this year!  He's turning 6 (can't believe he's that old) and ultimately we will be celebrating in Disney World for his actual birthday thanks to MAW!!

So here's the invite for his big party:

For the decorations, I decided to stick with the easy theme of the 3 colors, red, black and yellow.  All of the decor I found at the Dollar Tree or Walmart in the party section. I didn't spend more than $1 on anything (except the printing) and I think it turned out great!  So without further ado...

This is just made of tissue paper and cardstock for the ears.

The birthday mantle

Since it was a party for a boy, my husband wouldn't let me put up many of these pom pom balls, but this was our compromise. As long as they had Mickey Ears and were kept to a minimum. :)

The subway art that I created! Of course, his name has been blocked out.

I hung all of these streamers on our ceiling for fun! :) I definitely got a work out on this one.

The birthday banner and throne.

Complete with Mickey balloons of course!

You can find a printable of the template for this banner here.  I had to add the letters in word since I don't have a fancy cutter thing like the blogger does.  It worked out great though!

For an activity, I found this 10 ft coloring banner.  We taped it to our coffee table and set out some crayons.  The kids loved it!

The Front Door Welcome Sign...yes, that is snow in our front yard. Sadly, it's melting, but looked pretty for a little while at least.

I created this sign too for our front door! The basics of it came from this free printable!

Party hats...that the kids did not want to wear, but they were cute nonetheless.

Favors.  Each cup (from Walmart) is loaded with a set of stickers and a tattoo.

Alas, what party wouldn't be complete without food!

The spread

  This was a big hit...everyone loved the play on words.

 This was a spreadable cheese dip thing that I found a the grocery store.  So yummy.

This was my favorite...Cheese and Quackers. :)

Nothing says Mickey Mouse Party like Star Wars plates. :)  We actually have a case of these that were given to us, so they are used for EVERY party. :)
